Good morning;
We have been at the dock for a couple of days and will be out on a 2 day charter tonight. There are good reports already this morning from some of the boats.
It looks like the albacore are still arround  and want to bite better.   
 The kelps are holding more yellows an dorado too.
All in all fishing is on the up swing .
 
We have openings on Sunday nights 2 1/2 day trip #60 and trips 68, 74 & 78 have a few two for one spots too.

ATTENTION ALL STATIONS
 
The guys in the office have been busy making changes in our fall schedule.
First we now have several 1 1/2 day trips departing from San Diego
These popular trips will depart at 10 pm travel all night then fish from daylight to dark and return the next morning @ 6am.

 

More exciting news is we will be back in Long beach in November running       2 & 2 1/2 day trips these trips will fish the outer banks like.                      The Cortez & Tanner or San Nicolas Island there might even be a late albacore bite to get in on.

Good morning all;
We have been in a very slow punker this morning
We have 40+ mixed fish on the boat and a few hanging.

The BIG GAME 90 returned from a 2 day trip with
 101 blue fin, 78 yellow fin, 55 albacore, 25 dorado & 7 yellowtail
first place jack-pot was a 47lb. blue fin Nick Jeden
second place was a 35.2 albacore caught by Rick Olds
third place went to 33.2 blue fin caught buy Brad Bernach
 
Capt.. Mike Jewett reported that there is a real nice concentration of fish and it looks like the might stay put for a while.

The BIG GAME 90 has called it a trip and they are heading home.
Capt. MIKE JEWETT Reported good fishing again today on dorado yellowtail and a few tuna.
They also had an attack of the GIANT SQUID last night. A good time was had by all.
Our next trip with openings departed Friday night the 8th for 2 days.

Hello Mike hear;
We are just returning from our last KIDS FISH FREE trip of the season.
We had very good bass and barracuda fishing this afternoon.
The kids all caught there limits.
Irv and I would like to thank all of the tackle companies that have provided the goodie bags and jack-pot prizes for this years trips and a special thanks to

The BIG GAME 90: Just checked in this morning to let everyone know that they are having a very nice trip.
They are just off their first kelp of the morning and they put 46 nice yellows on the boat and released about that many as several members of the group already have limits of yellows for the trip.

 Capt. Mike said that they had a real mixed bag yesterday.
Yellowtail, tuna, dorado and albies where all caught.
They are hoping for more of the same today.

Capt. MIKE JEWETT called in this morning to report on yesterdays fishing.
'We worked down a water edge most of the day ending up about 156 miles from home.
We stayed busy most of the day going from one kelp to the next. We never found the mother load but we caught yellows on most of the kelps and a few kelps where holding tuna (BFTs & yellow fin)in-between we had a few albacore strikes and even caught a lone dorado.
We looking at an  albacore area this morning  about 110 miles south of San Diego. so far we have had 3 stops for 8 albies and 3 tuna.
The weather is a bit breezy but very fishable.
 
The next trips the BIG GAME 90 has openings on trips are# 38 &  #40 these are two dayers and trip # 42 is a 2 1/2 day .

Good Monday morning;
The BIG GAME 90 returned Sunday morning from a 2 1/2 day trip.
Capt. MIKE JEWETT said that after fishing the 295 area on Friday for just scratchey fishing he decided to take a look at the 1000 fathom eidge about 35 miles south of the bank. They arrived just before day light and the sonar told him he had found a nice area of fish if they only wanted to bite. Not long after daylight they had their jig strike and then it was stop and go for most of the day.
They never went more than an hour without a stop. They ended the day with 116 albies & 5 nice BFTs.
The jack pots went to Dave Releford with a 41.1 BFT, Dale Ballaulious with a 37.3 Albie and 3 Finger Jack /Wilson took 3rd. place with a 37pound Albi.
 
WE still have openings on next weekends trip #30 a 3 day trip departing Thursday @ 2pm and returning on Sunday morning.
also there is room on trip #34A a 2 1/2 day departing on Thursday July 24 @ 9pm and returning Sunday morning July 27.

Good morning all;
Capt. MIKE JEWETT reported in this morning from Cedros.
He said that despite lot's of wind they are having a great time catching quality yellows and they had a nice surprise when the 20 to 40lb. white sea bass came through and they managed to land 16 of them.
The BIG GAME 90's July and August trips still have some openings.

Well it's another beautiful day hear in San Diego. The fish are biting and the weather couldn't be better. Lots of good reports from the guys offshore.
It looks like we are going to have some good albacore scores soon.

We just returned from our last trip of the season from Long Beach Marina .
We had a fun filled 2 1/2 days of fishing . We didn't do much on the exotics just one yellow and a hand full of  legal halibut but the bass and rock fish filled the sacks for the guys.
We are now on our way home to San Diego. WE will be going through Coast Guard Inspection this week. and then we have 2 of our KIDS FISH FREE SEMINAR trips over the weekend of           June 21 & 22. Due to some cancelations there is room on these trips. Call our office @

The BIG GAME 90 will be running it's last trip of the season from Long Beach this weekend.
The 2 1/2 day trip departs Thursday evening at 8 o'clock and will return Sunday morning.
This is shaping up to be a great trip the yellows and sea bass are primed to take off any day.
 
The boat will return to San Diego Monday morning and the crew will get her ready for the annual coast guard inspection on Thursday.
Saturday and Sunday June 21 & 22 will be the first of the KIDS FISH FREE
seminar trips. On these trips all tackle is provided for kids and the adults as well as a great tackle pack for each kid on the trip. Special jack pot prizes are provided by EAGLE CLAW & OKUMA.

Good morning all;
Well for our last 1 day trip of the year we decided to camp out on the sea bass grounds.
We have managed to put 5 nice corkers on the deck this morning and loose that many.
 A tackle tip for you when you are fishing a dropper loop rig on line lighter than 50lb.    DON'T cut the loop and tie the hook on the tag end of the loop! The dropper loop knot makes the line break at about 50% of your line strength. So if you are fishing 30lb test it will break like 15lb.
Several fish this week have been lost because of this.
We recommend that when fishing a dropper loop rig  get one of the crew to set you up the first time.

The BIG GAME 90 is on the first day of a 2 day trip. They started in the bait grounds for a scratch on the yellows and 1 real nice halibut. With the nice weather they are working there way up the back side of the island. There have been reports of a sea bass bite up west we will keep you posted.

Hello all;
Mike From the BIG GAME 90 hear.
WOW what a weekend!!!!!!!!!!!
We started off with a real bang. Limits of SEA BASS on Friday (38 fish) & Saturday (49 fish) the Jack Pot fish both days where over 50lbs.
 
Then the word got out and Sunday morning there was over 100 small boats and 11 sport boats
trying to get in on the bite. The fish took a powder until late yesterday when the Freedom managed to get them to bite. Thoes fish will be up and biteing again soon. There is one hell of a spot of fish there and if the trafic isn't too bad they will give us some real action!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
We are back out tonight on a charter and then we have a 2 day open party trip Thursday and Friday. This weekend we will be running 1 day open party trips then on the 5th & 6th of June we have another 2 day trip and then we finish off our stay in Long Beach with a 2 1/2 day trip departing the 12th of June. give the BIG GAME 90 office a call @ 858 270 7525

We started out with a 2 day trip with the gang from OKUMA on the boat.
They brought along some very nice light saltwater tackle for the passengers to try out and some very nice gifts for everyone on board (thanks to Tim & Jim). We fished at SBI both days for a few yellows and good rock fishing.
There is good sign of both yellows and sea bass at this island  but the water needs to warm a pit more for them to start hitting.
The week end found us at SCI. This island is going into full summer mode.
The bass bit quite well and  the BIG BONITO on Saturday where everywhere and the yellows made a good showing each afternoon.
It's looking good for the Holiday week end.

Trip#34A departs Thursday night July 24@ 9pm and returns Sunday morning July 27 @ 6am

The BIG GAME 90 will be staying 2 additional weeks in Long Beach this spring and we have just added two more multi-day trips. The first is a 2 day departing Wednesday evening June 4 @ 8pm and returning Friday June 6 @ 8pm. Price is $250 and if you book in advance 2 go for $375
 The second and last trip of the year from Long Beach will be a 2 1/2 day trip departing
Thursday evening June 12 @ 8 pm and returning Sunday morning @ 6am

The BIG GAME 90 will be running over night trips on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday this week.
The boat is then chartered and has a couple of 2 day trips after that. So this will be your only chance to fish on the BIG GAME 90 open party until Sunday May 11.

Hello and happy Easter form Mike and the Crew!!!!!!
Well it looks like we have quite a few church goers for customers because we couldn't\'t get enough soles to go fishing on Good Friday or Easter Sunday but that\'s OK I hope some of you prayed for us. WE NEED IT!!!!!!!!
 
We did get out on Saturday. We where met in mid channel by the Long Beach Carnage one of the Ashley Boys bait boats. They filled our tanks with squid and off we went to the islands.

When we came around the east end of Catalina it looked like a parking lot with at least 75 small boats parked along the back. We decided to head on over to the west end of SCI to start the morning. We found cold off color water and an uphill current. Even the rockfish didn't\'t bite too well. so at 12:15 we headed back to the emerald isle. We poked around the east end in shallow water for very little until around 4:20 then we did  hook several mystery fish.

When it was all said and done we had one nice 35lb.+ sea bass on the boat and many confirmed bat rays to color. It sure as hell got everybody\'s blood pumping. It just goes to show you that until you see them it could be the right kind. In the end it was a nice day on the water and everyone took home a few fillets for dinner.
